Fares and Airport Taxes

Prices and Airport Taxes are subject to change by the Airline/Tour operator/Cruise company/Car Rental company/Hotels without prior notice. Except for finalized and fully paid bookings where price increase does not permitted.

Privacy Statement

For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server automatically recognizes no information regarding the domain or e-mail address. We collect the e-mail address of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, user specific information on what pages consumers access or visit and information volunteered by the customers.

The information we collect is used for internal review and is then discarded, used to improve the content of our Web page, used to customize the content and/or layout of our page for individual consumer and used by us to contact consumers for marketing purposes.

If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by sending an e-mail, calling or writing, and telling us that you do not want to receive e-mail from our company.

Terms & Conditions

You understand and agree that this site shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, data or other intangible losses (even if the owners of this site have been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from the use or the inability to use the product(s) and or service(s) or any misuse of the product(s) and or service(s) in a manner not in accordance with their intended use.

Change & Cancellation fees
Any request for a change or modification is subject to availability and is considered a cancellation, therefore subject to the airline penalties and/or administration/service fee plus tax and fare difference for any tickets/travel services issued and paid.  Airline tickets, hotel accommodation, tour pacakges and other travel services booked and purchased on-line or by phone are subject to admin fee of $25.00 per person plus any specific restricitons and conditions.

Please note that refunds are processed as of the dates they are communicated to Smartchoice travel agents. Most of the cases, after penalty payments are made, there is  no refund will be issued for any part of the trip which has not been completed, or for services which have not been used. All changes done at destination will be considered as a cancellation. and may subject to airline/suplliers service fees and penalties. All documents such as airline tickets, vouchers etc. together with a letter of request for any refunds or changes must be sent  to Smartchoice Travel prior to any changes/refunds being considered and processed.

Insurance
It is strongly suggested to take out an insurance policy the day the booking is made. Different types of protections are being offered by travel agencies, such as: cancellation, medical and hospitalisation, baggage or insurance limiting any loss of goods or monies before or during the trip. Cancellation insurance must cover "taxes and service charges", to ensure that these are reimbursed by the insurer in the event of a cancellation.

 Validity of airline tickets and vouchers
Airline tickets and vouchers are issued in the traveler's name and are not transferable. They are valid only for the dates, flights, hotels and services indicated. Under no circumstances can airline tickets and vouchers which have not been used on the date indicated be refunded, used or exchanged for another flight, hotel or service.
Electronic Ticketing (E-Tickets) is the default method  of most airline carriers.  A traditional paper ticket will only be issued if e-ticketing is unavailable and if the airlines’ contract allows it. Electronic tickets cannot be reissued as paper tickets. Paper tickets issued  on flights eligible for electronic tickets are subjected to an additional fee by the airline.  E-ticket receipt will be transmitted via fax, e-mail and  mail by your travel agent/consultant.

Note: For our valued clients who purchased any of our travel services, in the event of a late reservation or due to e.g. airlines/cruiselines operational priorities, airline/cruise tickets may be issued to passengers upon arrival at the airport/embarkation pier.

Room assignment and check-in/out times
Rooms can only be assigned by the hotelkeepers on the day of arrival. Smartchoice travel cannot guarantee rooms with ocean or garden view, or on specific floors, locations, bed size etc. Special requests should be requested at the time of original booking. Some hotels may be subject to additional charges payable directly upon arrival.

Check-in and Check-out times vary between hotels. Check-in time is typically between 3 and 4 p.m. (some hotels have check-in after 4p.m.) and check-out time is normally between 11a.m. and 12 noon. (During peak periods, check-in may be delayed one to two hours.) Apartments/Residence: The traveler can take possession of his apartment at 5pm the day of arrival and must vacate it by 10am on the day of departure

Clients  must advise Smartchoice travel agents at the time of booking of any prescheduled late arrival. In case of delay during the trip, the passenger must contact the hotel directly to advise them of their late arrival. Most hotels will store luggage for guests for free or with a minimal fee/tip arriving before check-in time and/or departing after check-out time.

Early Check-in and Late Check-out: You may want to consider purchasing an additional night should you have a very early arrival or very late departure. Some hotels do offer a reduced rate for this service when booked at the time of original reservations: note it is non-refundable if unused.

Special conditions apply to children travelling with only one parent.   Child rate, in most cases, apply to children 3 through 9 years of age; however, the applicable ages may vary by airline carriers/supplier. Children, unless stated otherwise, are restricted to sharing a room with a full-fare paying guest and must utilize existing bed space. The total number of occupants in a guestroom cannot exceed the maximum allowed. The availability of cribs, cots, or any other special guest services cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges payable directly to the supplier.

Infants, under 2years of age, may travel for free or at 10% of the adult fare depending upon the destination and the carrier’s policy. Free travel or infant fares do not guarantee a seat for the infant on any airline, tour bus, or train nor does it permit any baggage allowance. If an infant turns 2 years old while in destination, a round-trip child fare must be purchases prior to travel, except if otherwise specified by the airline.
Infants under 6 weeks may require a doctor’s certificate to travel.

Services included
All services specifically described therein, all others being excluded such as personal expenses, optional insurance coverage, tips etc. 
 

Documentation
The traveler is responsible for obtaining the valid documents required by government authorities. Smartchoice Travel may only advise  important documenations needed or even assist in your visa applications with a minimal service fee prior to departure. Note: Visa issuance/aprroval does not  guaranteee Travelers nor Smartchoice Travel be responsible in this regard. Travellers who do not have the required documents and can still be refused by authorities/consular office of the country being visited. In which case the traveler will not be entitled to any service fee/visa fee refund from Smartchoice Travel.  We recommend that you check with your travel consultant and advise him or her of your nationality/citizenship so that they can advise or even direct you to the appropriate authority to obtain the correct documentation at your expense.

Baggage
Smartchoice Travel Agents will advise you of the baggage inforamtion at the time of your booking. Note: Baggage allowances vary by airline and as such, it is still the traveler’s responsibility to contact all airlines directly for information regarding their specific policies. .Any charges for excess baggage (when authorised by the carrier) must be paid by the traveler directly to the airline. Smartchoice Travel are not responsible nor liable from the loss or damage to your baggage and personal effect caused by theft, burglary,fire or transportation hazards anywhere during your trip.

Flight schedules
Smartchoice Travel & Tours does not act as an "air carrier". Its only obligation is to provide the traveler with  airline ticket and travel services to the destination specified. Smartchoice Travel assumes no responsibility for the carrier's failure to provide transportation which is the sole responsibility of the airline carrier. Please note that airline tickets carry restrictions and limits of liability. The airline companies concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time the passenger is not aboard their aircraft. The passenger’s contract in use by the airlines when issued shall be the sole contract between the carrier and passenger. This contract, regardless of where it is performed, shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the place of departure from Canada. The provisions in this agreement are non-severable. Flight schedules are the ones programmed at the time of ticket issuance and are subject to change without prior notice. Smartchoice assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or inconvenience resulting from a change to the schedule or airline delay. The traveler must verify directly with the airline for any schedule change 48 hours prior to departure and 48 hours prior to the return. Smartchoice Travel  will not be held liable of any consequences due to a flight cancellation or delay booked in conjunction with a land portion or a cruise; would it be a flight bought through consolidation or via the cruise supplier. Flights purchased through the cruise supplier are subjected to the latter’s conditions. Each carrier has its own re-protection, re-issuance and cancellation policy regarding deviations, schedule change and/or flight cancellation. Although Smartchoice Travel Agents will do the most to help the traveler, Smartchoice cannot be held liable for penalties and/or ensuing fees from the carriers following a flight cancellation, a routing deviation or any schedule change. Flights cancellations, reroutings or schedule changes are governed by policies specific to each carrier. Smartchoice will do the utmost to help the traveler following the modifications done by the carrier, Smartchoice Travel cannot be held liable for penalties and/or ensuing fees from the carriers following a flight cancellation, a routing deviation or any schedule change. Flights cancellations, reroutings or schedule changes are governed by policies specific to each carrier. And Smartchoice Travel cannot be held responsible for any penalty and/or fees incured by a flight cancellation due to weather conditions, technical problems etc, a rerouting or a schedule change.


Check-in at the airport
The traveler must report to the check-in counter at least 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. Failing to do so, the seats could be assigned to other travelers, without recourse.  Some airlines allows on-line check in 24hours prior to departure by visiting their website.

Seat selection
Some airline companies offer seat pre-selection at the time of booking. If they do not, seats are assigned on a "first come, first served" basis by the agent representing the airline company at the airport. Advanced seat selection cannot be guaranteed and final seat allocation is at the sole discretion of the airline. Some airlines allows on-line check in  24hours prior to dpearture where you can select and choose your seat as well.

Frequent Flyer Programs
Frequent flyer program offers free membership on-line by visitng your airline's travel website. In order to accumulate mileage with your specific carriers/airlines, membership must be done anytime prior to your departure otherwise airline carriers would not credit any mileage to your account.

Other Reminders:
For passengers below 18yrs. old, a letter of consent to travel signed by both parents is required at the airport attached with a copy of any goverment issued photo I.D.. For parents travelling with minors (children below 17 years & below), a letter of consent from the other parent is required signed attached with any copy of government issued photo I.D. For Canadian passport holders staying more than 21days in the Philippines visa is required. For  Filipinos holding Canadian passports, pls. bring any of the following: old Phil. Passport, Birth Certificate, Old Canadian Passport stamped with "Balikbayan Visa". These documents might be asked at the airport upon check in. Passport , permanent resident card, U.S. Visa, re-entry permit should be valid 6month or more prior to your departure and return date.
